I’ve completed the very first item from my list of 100 Awesome Things to Do. This past Sunday night was a beautiful, clear night. It was also considerably cooler than the past few days had been. So I trekked outside with a blanket and just stared up at the sky for a half hour or so. The moon was full the following night, so it was a little harder to see the stars than normal, but I didn’t mind.

Jupiter is mid-sky right now after sunset, so it’s easily the brightest object in the sky. The near-full moon was beautiful as well.

I like to take these kinds of opportunities to think about our place in the universe and remember just how small we are and how beautiful the universe is.
